Where to Shop for Houseplants in Daytona Beach & Ormond Beach: A Local Plant Lover’s Guide, 2026
As a small business owner who spends many weekends at local markets selling plant accessories, one of the questions I get asked most often is, “Where’s the best place to buy plants?” That question inspired me to add a blog to my website, and I couldn’t think of a better topic for my very first post than sharing some of my favorite places to buy plants in the Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach area.
Some might say I have a bit of a plant addiction… although I’m not convinced that owning 58 houseplants (yes, they all have names) officially qualifies as an addiction. And no—that doesn’t include my outdoor landscaping plants! I also love propagating my plants, which means my family and friends are regularly gifted (or perhaps lovingly forced to adopt) new plant babies. If you live in Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, or anywhere in Central Florida—including the Orlando area—you are fortunate to have access to some truly fantastic locally owned nurseries and garden centers. I always enjoy supporting small, family-owned businesses whenever I can, so that’s exactly what this blog is all about. Without further ado, and in no particular order, here are some of my favorite places to shop for plants!

Lanipots - Ormond Beach/Daytona Beach
Lanipots is owned by Sam, and if you frequent local markets around Ormond Beach, Port Orange and Daytona Beach, there’s a good chance you’ve seen her. You can often find her at markets like the Halifax River Market or Ormond Brewing markets, and I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know her through the local market community.
One of my favorite things about buying a plant from Sam is that you’re not just handed a plant and sent on your way. She is incredibly personable and knowledgeable and can practically give you the plant’s entire life story—including information about the mother plant it came from! You can tell she genuinely knows and cares about the plants she sells.
Lanipots specializes in handcrafted succulent arrangements, DIY succulent kits, unique planters, workshops, private parties, and event floral design. Her creations make especially fun gifts, including for that person who is impossible to shop for.
If you want to support a local plant lover while bringing home something a little different, definitely look for Sam and Lanipots at one of our local markets.

Big Value Garden Center – Daytona Beach
Big Value Garden Center is conveniently located off Nova Road, and they carry a great mix of annuals, perennials, tropical plants, flowering shrubs, vegetables, herbs, houseplants, and succulents. They also offer residential and commercial landscaping and irrigation services.
Between the wind chimes, planters, gnomes, and other garden treasures, there’s plenty to look at besides plants. If you are in need of multiple items, then Big Value Garden Center is a one-stop shop for all your gardening needs.

The Farm – Ormond Beach
The Farm is more than just a place to buy plants—this eight-acre property is filled with tropical and subtropical plants, palms, trees, groundcovers, and landscape materials. They also offer landscape design, installation, and delivery services. And then there are the miniature horses!
They also host three big annual events: the Spring Flower & Garden Festival, typically in April; the Farm Fall Festival, with hayrides and mini horses; and Santa Comes to the Farm in December, where you can take family photos with Santa! It was a joy to explore their plants with butterflies fluttering around me. The Farm is a must-stop!

Landscaping By Butcher’s Nursery – Daytona Beach
Butcher’s Nursery has been a family-owned nursery since 1955 and is known for its extensive selection of Florida-friendly trees, shrubs, tropical plants, and ornamental greenery. They also offer professional landscape design, installation, and garden planning. Walking around this beautiful nursery and looking at their very impressive and large selection of plants and trees had me mentally redesigning my entire yard.

Arboretum – Ormond Beach
The Arboretum is one of those longtime local nurseries that just feels like part of Ormond Beach. They’ve been serving our community for around 30 years and are located right on State Road 40. I love that we still have places like this where you can wander through the plants, ask questions, and enjoy the experience of shopping at a locally owned garden center.
They carry a nice variety of palms, native Florida plants, flowering shrubs, bamboo, shade trees, roses, groundcovers, pottery, and garden décor. I especially enjoy browsing the outdoor plants and seeing what might work in my own yard.

E.F.G. Orchids – DeLand
I know DeLand (a 30-minute drive) is technically outside of the Daytona Beach area, but I absolutely had to include this plant-lover Disneyland on this list. Don’t let the name E.F.G. Orchids fool you; they carry a HUGE selection of tropical houseplants, African violets, ferns, succulents, carnivorous plants, peperomias, exotic plants, and decorative pottery... If you love orchids, this is a must-visit destination, as they specialize in orchids ranging from beginner-friendly varieties to rare collector specimens. And if you're looking for a giant statement plant—the kind that makes you wonder whether you need a moving company to get it home—this is definitely a place to explore!

Canopy Plant Co- Online
And finally, for those days when you want a new plant buddy but would rather not leave your house and interact with other humans, I recommend ordering online from Canopy Plant Co. One of my personal favorite plants that I purchased from them is this Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica', which I bought about a year ago. She believes she’s a model, as you will see her posing throughout my website frequently because I love using her as a prop in my photos. Canopy Plant Co carries a huge variety of houseplants, including rare varieties. I have also learned they recently relocated to Apopka, FL, so one might say they are local too! This is an online business only, but it is worth browsing.

I hope this list helps newcomers to the area as well as longtime locals who may not have known about some of these places—or that spots like The Farm have such fun events. I loved visiting each of these nurseries, wandering through the plants, and taking photos.
To be honest, this blog was a little harder to write than I anticipated, and I hope I captured what makes each place special. Of course, I encourage you all to visit them and find your own favorite.
